This 8-Day African Mountain Gorilla Tour, Chimps and Birding Safari experience starts from Lake Mburo National Park containing an extensive area of wetland that harbors several species of mammals including zebras, impalas, elands, topi and buffaloes, giraffes, leopards and birds. The Safari then proceeds to Bwindi for African Mountain Gorilla trekking and cultural experience with the Batwa forest people. Continue to queen Elizabeth National Park for tree climbing lion, boat cruise and end with chimp tracking in Kibale and Bigodi swamp walk.
You will be met at the airport by our safari guide who will transfer you to the hotel reserved for you in Entebbe. Dinner and overnight will be at this hotel. Then in the morning you will depart from the hotel to lake mburo national park with our guide.
You will set off after breakfast for the Lake Mburo National Park in the western part of the country. You will have a stopover at the Mpigi Drum Makers village to see how the Royal drums are made using traditional methods that have been handed down over generations. Another stopover will be at the Equator for photos at this international landmark where you will also watch the mesmerizing water experiments conducted at the spot where the two hemispheres divide. You will continue the drive through the rolling hills and plains dotted with community homesteads and herds of the long horned Ankole cattle to Lake Mburo National Park. You will arrive in time for an afternoon boat ride and later retire for dinner and overnight at your booked lodge.
You will wake up early and set off for a morning game drive to enjoy the rich biodiversity of this small park that boasts of the large herds of zebra, impala, gigantic eland, topis and a variety of bird species. You will return to the lodge for a late breakfast and hit the road again to Bwindi Forest National Park, arriving in the evening. Dinner and overnight will be at the lodge of your booking.
You will have an early morning breakfast and move to the Park headquarters to join other trackers in a briefing about the mountain gorilla trekking rules at 7:45am You will trek through thick creepers and undergrowth with your guides to find the mountain Gorillas, which can take you 1-8 hours. The steeply forested landscape is incredibly dense but crossed by numerous animal trails allowing access by tourists. You will have one hour to stay with the mountain Gorillas once sited. Dinner and overnight will be at your lodge of booking.
You will have an early breakfast and later drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park via the Ishasha Sector which is famous for its tree climbing lions. You may be lucky and spot these lions resting on top of the Fig trees, quite an inspiring sight. Lunch will be at Savannah Hotel after go for a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, a great experience for bird watching, as well as crocodiles, hippos and elephants. After you will also enjoy an evening game drive, expect see lions, elephants, Cape buffalo, warthogs, leopard, spotted hyena, and lots of other small animals and teaming birds. Dinner and overnight will be at your lodge of booking.
After your morning breakfast, you will have an early morning Game drive where you will see the lion, leopard, giant forest hog, Cape buffalo, elephant, defassa waterbuck, Uganda Kob, topi and bushbuck among others. Later after lunch, you will transfer to Kibale Forest National Park. Dinner and overnight will be spent at your reserved lodge.
After breakfast, you will report to at the Kanyanchu Tourist Centre at 08.00 am for a briefing before tracking the chimpanzees. The forest is only accessible on foot and the walk will provide you with the opportunity to see a variety of other primates and animals as well as birds, and a variety of butterflies and other insects. You will return to the lodge for lunch and in the afternoon go for a nature walk in the Bigodi Wetland to see a variety of birds and monkey species. You will have dinner and overnight at your lodge.
You will after breakfast, transfer back to Kampala, You will have lunch in Fort Portal enroute arriving in the evening.
